- Recap:
- Lord, that took forever!
- Ryan Ludwick was the walk-off hero. However, he was terribly bad in all five at-bats before that. Luckily that RBI single in the bottom of the 14th won the game and made us all forget the day he was having prior.
- Dioner Navarro had a huge 2-RBI double in the 7th that allowed the Reds to tie the game and eventually win it....seven innings later.
- Chris Heisey homered waaaaaay back in the 4th inning. It was his 7th of the year.
- Everybody and their brother had an at-bat tonight for the Reds.
- Mat Latos: 6.0 IP, 3 R, 5 H, 4 BB, 5 SO. It wasn't pretty, but it was in fact a quality start. Latos threw 106 pitches, and 61 for strikes.
- BULLPEN: 8.0 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 5 BB (3-Chapman), 8 SO. Outside of Aroldis Chapman (that's right)this bullpen was absolutely tremendous. Eight innings and no runs allowed? Yeah. Sure, there were a couple of scares (including Simon loading the bases with nobody out in the top of the 14th) but they overcame every obstacle and pulled this one out.
*Aroldis will be getting at least a week off with what they're labeling as left shoulder fatigue. His velocity has dropped severely and all the electricity is gone. At least, that is what's been easily detectable in his last three outings.
*Reds reduce Magic Number to 12!
